Strontium Dog - Page 3 - Panel 4 - Inks

I can't show too much of this page or it will spoil the surprise!

Strontium Dog - Page 2 - Panels 5,6 - Inks

Page 2 and page 3 inks - Finished!

But can't really show too much of page 3 or it will spoil the surprise. I'll post one panel from it tomorrow...a spoiler free one.

Still tightening up the last three pages.

The pressure is on!!!!

Strontium Dog - Page 2 - Panel 1 - Inks

Two pages completely inked and a third partially!

I swapped out the controversial 'Glitter' character for Old Green Bonce himself - Tharg, The Mighty...complete with styrofoam cup!

I need to step up my game a bit more to finish the strip before the deadline...so...no beer more or 'Red Dead Redemption' for me till I'm done!

Strontium Dog - Page1 - Panel 5 - Inks

Page one has been completely inked!
Woohoo!

Strontium Dog - Page1 - Panel 1 - Inks!

So, I tightened the pencils on the first three pages of the strip and loosely pencilled the remaining three. And I sat down to ink the first page.

I initially wanted to keep it simple as possible...try and keep it 'my style'! (Whatever that is?)
and then decided...Screw it! I'll do my best Carlos Ezquerra impression!

Not too shabby. Now if I can only keep up the quality throughout.

Click to make big!

Can you spot...
1. Power Girl
2. Ernie Hudson
3. Gary Glitter (Complete with asian accessory)
4. The Mekon
5. E.T.
6. Mel Gibson
7. Rich McAuliffe (AKA BlueMeanie)
8. And for 2000ad forumites...The Legendary Shark!

Strontium Dog - Page 2 - Panels 5,6 - Pencils

More Johnny Alpha goodness!

I'm getting a little bit more comfortable trying to mix my lack of style wth Mr. Ezquerras!

Strontium Dog - Page1 - Panel 1 - Pencils

Moving slowly along!!!

Another Stront panel.

The more I draw this strip...the more I think Ezquerra is a talented genius! (Not that I didn't think something along them lines anyways!). He makes everything look deceptively easy!

Phoenix ComicCon - Post 2

Just two pics this time. A Lady Death...
And, my favorite doodle of the con...Storm!

Phoenix ComicCon - Post 1

I had a good bit of fun at the Phoenix ComicCon on Memorial Weekend and this really nice guy took a chance on me and had me sketch a Boba fett for him. His sketchbook was 'A 100 Boba Fetts' and I felt honored that he chose me to contribute.

As you can see from below...not too bad. it was my first ever Boba Fett drawing

Now we come to Bob Bretall. Bob always keeps in touch with me and Al and because we had a table...he popped by. He got another Zatanna out of me!

Quite proud of this one.

Strontium Dog - Page1 - Panel 5 - Pencils

I've started in on Rich's script for a Strontium Dog story. He's such complicated character to draw. At least I'm finding he's complicated.

Alpha is one of those characters that is so closely associated with his creator...it's nearly impossible to do the guy justice...unless you're Colin MacNeill!!!

Star Whores Complete!

Not bad for a weekend of inking and slapping together! Sent it off to Rich to post.

Star Whores - Page 2 - Inks

Star Whores - Page 1 - Inks

Page one so far. I've still got to tidy it up and add a bit more line work. I am enjoying doing this little project. it's a good bit of fun.

Clint Mag - Star Whores - Roughs

Another Rich McAuliffe colaboration. This time for a submission to Mark Millars 'CLINT' magazine. I'm going to probably change the first panel on the third page. Have the little perv tilted and blown up like a puffer fish.

Thugs! Issue Three - Cover!

Gotta put everything together now and shoot it to Ka-Blam.com

Thugs! Issue Three - Page 11!

Another issue compiled and done! Just the backmatter left and I'm good to go.

Thugs! Issue Three - Page 1!

I forget to post this late addition page. It was added to make more sense to the beginning of the issue because of the long wait for issue three..

Thugs! Issue Three - Classic Cover!

Rory Hensleys excellent spoof cover of Wonder Woman #108!
The guy is amazing!

Megazine Interview!!!!

Myself and Rich got interviewed by the Judge Dredd Magazine writer Alec Worley!
Woohoo!
I mentioned the ComicGeekSpeak guys in it too as my inspiration for doing the ECBT2000AD Podcast!

I even got some of my artwork in there too. The Comic Racks logo was drawn by me and the color artist is Rob Jackson!

Sweet!

Thugs! Issue Three - Page 7!

Thugs! Issue Three - Page 6!

Deb Bonair - Chp 2 - page 10 rough!

Poor Rory! He has to deal with these crapola roughs!!!

Thugs! Issue Three - Page 4

Deb Bonair - Chp 2 - page 6 rough!

About time! Rory will be pleased.
This is a rough of page 6 in the next chapter of Deb Bonair. I need to shoot Rory a brief description of what's going on in each panel so he can start doodling again. He's been waiting a long time for these roughs...I hope it's worth the wait for him!

Thugs! Issue Three - Page 3

Soldiering on!

Thugs! Issue Three - Page 2!

Started back in on Thugs! again. This is a tweaked page for the new print issue.

Ultramaiden Parody Ad

At last a decent update! This is that parody ad that will go into issue three of Thugs! It's only 90% complete. I have to forward it onto Rich and see what text he wants included in the bottom third.

Really fun getting back into things again.

Projects Update - Part Deux!

Bride of Frankenstein commission pic for Bluemeanie. Still have to get this done! And as soon as it is...post it off to Rich with the Tank Girl pic I did for Iz ages ago!!!

Strontium Dog artwork for Rich's script.
Thugs! #3. So, behind on this. Still gotta finish the cover colors and get the Ultramaiden parody ad complete.

Finvarras Feast. Sheesh! I'm such a slacker

Irelands Own. An Irish gangland crime project. Still researching this one!

White Heat No.1 The only thing holding this up is the introduction piece I have to write for it. Other than that...it's done.

White Heat No.2 The Deb Bonair story in this issue has been completely thumbnailed. I still need a second story for this issue.

Thugs! Time to get back in the saddle on this project!

Lots of stuff to do...so little time!!!

Phew!

It seems like forever since my last update. A lot has been going on. Work has been keeping me really busy and I had my Grandkid (Don't ask, long story!) and my parents out for a few weeks. Now that everything is returning back to normal...I'll hopefully be posting a lot more regular and get some more artwork.

My next post will be a list of items/projects I have coming up.

ECBT 2000ad! Episode 10: The Leigh Gallagher Interview

Heres the "official blurb"

It’s another interview episode and this week the guys talk to 2000AD artist extraordinaire Leigh Gallagher and get his inside story on Defoe, his views on internet critics and the UK convention scene, but unfortunately not his sisters phone number.

WARNING : Due to the levels or raw manliness in this episode women are advised not to listen in order avoid unwanted pregnancy. Thank you.

As you would expect, its the usual stuff with added scouse value. Bit on the rambley side, but had a laugh doing it.

Direct Link!

Marvel Mouse!

Peter Rios asked me to do a Disney type character getting shot by the DC Bullet. Why a generic Disney character? I just used Mickey. Might as well.

Perfect Pitch #4

Trying to get back into the swing of things. Here's another oldie.
