Happy 35th Birthday 2000ad
Really surprised I never posted this. It's an oldie and a goodie. I even censored a panel on one page. It was too mean-spirited. oh well, that's me for you.

Ron Smith Tribute - Final!
Finished.
It was a lot of fun. I even included 'King Cobra' and 'Nick Jolly'. As well as a certain 'Legendary Shark'!

Rons Smith Tribute
A blue pencil and partial inks rough.
Mark Howard aka The Legendary Shark is putting together a tribute book for comic book legend Ron Smith. Ron is in his 80's and Mark figured it was about time to present him with a good fandom 'thank you.' Mark had previously compiled the 'Carlos Ezquerra' book.
I'm going to push for more people to contribute to this project on the 2000ad Podcast and on the 2000ad forums.
To me, Ron Smith was the definitive Judge Dredd artist in the 80's. Most people pick Mcmahon or Bolland...but looking back, Ron was a genius. To me, he was the British 'Jack Kirby'.

Anderson - Russ Meyer Style!
Did this for the heck of it after seeing this cheesecakey version of Judge Hershey.
Yeah...I know...it's all very Russ Meyer. That was the point. I'd never draw Andserson like that for a 'real' Dredd strip. It was just for a giggle.

Rogue Trooper Final!
Done and dusted!
Sent this off to Luke a couple of weeks ago. He's happy with it...which I'm delighted to hear.
I based it initially on the classic 70's 'Star wars' poster. The Traitor General replaces Vader, Rogue and Venus = Luke and Leia, Milli-Com = Death Star, Quartz Massacre = X-wing fighters and my favs, Brass and Bland = R2D2 and C3PO.

2000ad Mash-Up - Part Three!

I still think the Zombo/Ace garp combo one is the best. Gotta do that one up proper!

2000ad Mash-Up!
The Idea
"Mixed up 2000ad, the greatest crossovers that never happened. Nemesis and Dan Dare together for the first time, Nikolai Dante and the Space Girls? Dredd taking out Big Dave? no? Well if you think you can do better you think of one!"
My idea....Zombo meets Ace Trucking Co. I'll draw this up proper later. I still have two or three other ideas to do. back to sketching. You'll see them up here soon.

ECBT 2000ad! Episode 10: The Leigh Gallagher Interview
It’s another interview episode and this week the guys talk to 2000AD artist extraordinaire Leigh Gallagher and get his inside story on Defoe, his views on internet critics and the UK convention scene, but unfortunately not his sisters phone number.
WARNING : Due to the levels or raw manliness in this episode women are advised not to listen in order avoid unwanted pregnancy. Thank you.
As you would expect, its the usual stuff with added scouse value. Bit on the rambley side, but had a laugh doing it.

Johnny Alpha - Strontium Dog
Strontium Dog was one of my favorite strips as a kid. It still is damn good strip today.
I've been really enjoying the Rebellion reprints (Strontium Dog: Search/Destroy Agency Flies 01/02) of his early adventures. John Wagner/Alan Grants writing with Carlos Ezquerra artwork is simply magnificent.

SWAG!
I’ve been away for a while, two weeks to be exact, so I haven’t posted anything in that time. Now that I’m back, I’ll be posting regularly.
Anyhow, my trip back to my home country, Ireland….went really well, personal-wise and business-wise. Hopefully I’ll be able to reveal more details business-wise over the coming few months.
Anyhow…When I was back ‘home’ I picked up tons of swag…what you see in the pictures is a small representation of what I brought back to the US.
I brought over around 7 volumes of the Hardcover faithful reprints of the Original ‘Dan Dare’ strips.
A good few Hardback volumes of ‘Viz Comic’ …Hilarious non-pc stuff.
A few copies of the ‘Eagle’ comic from the 80’s relaunch. Yep…you can see the first issue in the pictures…it came with a free space spinner!
A few copies of some real old school war comics…'Battle.'
A few copies of one of my favorite IPC titles ‘Scream!’…you can see the first issue in the pic and that came with plastic ‘Fangs’.
Bought a couple of the 2000ad fanzine ‘Zarjaz’ (and other various 2000ad stuff) and the British comic fanzine ‘Crikey!’.
Got some ‘Dandy’ and ‘Beano’ stuff including a hardback reprint of the original 1939 Dandy Annual.
And as you can see…I gots me some cool Doctor Who toys! I love the good Doctor. I got a ‘Sonic Screwdriver’, a remote controlled ‘K-9’…two remote controlled Daleks…a Cyberman and the good Doctor himself!
And I got the missus…A ‘Jack Skellington with interchangeable heads’…she loves that movie!
Not a bad haul…I still got tons of stuff up in attic of my folks house. Maybe next time I’ll manage to bring most of it over to the US.

Strontium Dog! The Animated Series - Part 2-
First up: Wulf Sternhammer. Johnny's Viking best friend and fellow bounty hunter.
Second: The Gronk. Johnny and Wulf's alien medic. Be careful not to scare him though. The Gronks are a very meek race of aliens and even the slightest shock can cause them to faint or have a heart attack.
